The After Hours GP Clinic is a co-operative venture of General Practitioners in Melbourne’s Central East.
Since beginning operation in 1997 the Clinic has seen over 100,000 patients. All of our General Practitioners are committed to providing quality care to you as an extension of the care provided by your usual General Practitioner.
With the patient's consent, information relating to their consultation is sent to their usual practitioner immediately by fax, mail or secure mail the next day, thereby giving the continuity of their care back to their own GP.
This is an After Hours Medical Service only, and as such, we recommend all patients have their own General Practitioner for ongoing care.
We are pleased to be able to provide local general practices, the option to divert their phones through to the AHGPC when their practice is closed, free of charge.
*Note: Your telephone service provider may/may not charge diverting practice a local call fee for each diversion, depending on your phone plan.
Our clinic staff will provide diverted callers with information regarding our After Hours GP Clinic service as well as alternative local after hours care options, including Nurse on call, GP on call, and home visiting services.
Practices diverting their phones to the AHGPC nominate their preferred locum service provider, and AHGPC ensures that when our service is closed, your patients’ calls are diverted to your nominated locum provider.
If you are interested in diverting your practice phones to the AHGPC when your practice is closed, please email email@example.com for more information and to arrange a diversion agreement.
